LEARNING THROUGH DIGITAL TOOLS

  My students wrote sentences about their morning and afternoon routines on the Padlet titled ‘Our Students’ Morning and Afternoon Routines.’ They mostly worked in pairs. They are also curious about the partner students’ routines. We believe that this activity gives our students the opportunity to get to know each other better.   My students created an online exercise on Kahoot about abilities and inabilities using the vocabulary we previously selected for this topic.   The students of each partner school had previously created two slogans. Then, our project slogan "Smart Kids Use Smart Tools" was chosen by the partner students through an online poll. For this activity, the partner students created an acrostic poem together. In each verse, the initials of the lines form one word from the project slogan. Each word in the slogan represents a verse in the poem, and each verse was written by a mixed-country team. Here are the lines written by my students :)

  For the activity, I divided my students into five groups, with three students in each group. It was quite challenging for them. First, they wrote their ideas in Turkish. Then, they used the Internet to find the words they didn’t know. Finally, each group came up with a slogan. We wrote all five slogans on the board, and they voted for their favorite one. One slogan received five votes, another one received four votes and three other slogans received two votes. Here are our chosen slogans :)
